El primer Bonus Track dominical de "El Rincón del Mago Nios", como todo domingo será costumbre presentar algun material especial, y en esta ocasión se le ha cedido el turno a 'Zappa Plays Zappa'.

Zappa Plays Zappa:
Es un tour organizado por la familia Zappa, con diversos musicos que han participado en hartos albumes con el mitico Frank Zappa, y que ahora tienen la posibilidad de volver a interpretar grandes hits del maestro, junto a Dweezil Zappa, su hijo, además este tour es hecho con la finalidad de mantener viva la música de este coloso de la música. Un tour que recorre todo el mundo y mantiene vigente, lo que Frank dejo de hacer hace poco menos de 14 años, debido a su muerte.
Pero este tour abarca los exitos de todos sus albumes, pasando por las interpretaciones con "The Mothers", "Captain Beefheart" y otros colaboradores, a través de los tours se ha visto mayormente interpretadas las canciones Montana, Muffin' Man, My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama, que han dejado al público de alguna forma perplejo de las performances de los musicos. Este tour a medida que cambian el repertorio de temas, va cambiando su alineación conservando a Dweezil Zappa (Guitarra), a Pete Griffin (Bajo), Scheila Gonzalez (Teclado y otros instrumentos), y ha tenido grandes invitados tales como Steve Vai, guitarrista de elite, que ha participado en los G3 con el mismisimo Joe Satriani, y que tiene sonidos espectaculares en su guitarra, también esta Ray White, destacado guitarrista y vocalista de Frank, en los albumes que van desde 1978 hasta 1983. Bueno como parte de este post, viene un concierto de este grupo de musicos.

Desde ahora se instaurara el Sábado de los homenajes y/o tributos y en esta ocasión se le ha cedido este homenaje a Jeff Buckley, anteriormente había un post de este gran referente de la música alternativa estadounidense, pero fue borrado debido a la caducidad de sus enlaces, aca se han propuesto, aquellos enlaces y aun más de ellos, para disfrutar de la música de Jeff, antes se habia hecho un homenaje y fue durante la semana al gran Jimi Hendrix, bueno sin más preambulos el post de Buckley.

Jeffrey Scott Buckley (17 de noviembre de 1966 - 29 de mayo de 1997)
Fue un cantautor y guitarrista estadounidense. Conocido por su peculiar voz de al menos cuatro octavas y media, los críticos consideraron a Buckley como uno de los artistas más prometedores de su generación tras la publicación en 1994 de su álbum debut Grace.
Sin embargo, en la cumbre de su popularidad, Buckley murió ahogado mientras nadaba. Su trabajo y estilo siguen siendo reconocidos por la crítica y por los músicos.

El trabajo de Buckley, aparentemente anómalo con su época, ha tenido una influencia enorme. Se han escrito numerosas canciones en su tributo, entre las que destacan "Memphis" de PJ Harvey, "Blind River Boy" de Amy Correia, "Memphis Skyline" de Rufus Wainwright, "Wave Goodbye" de Chris Cornell, "Song For A Dead Singer" del grupo belga Zita Swoon, varios temas del grupo de New Jersey Ours. Vocalistas como Thom Yorke de Radiohead y Matt Bellamy de Muse se reconocen a sí mismos como influenciados por su voz.

James Marshall Hendrix (Seattle, Washington, 27 de noviembre de 1942 - Londres, 18 de septiembre de 1970) fue un músico basado en el rock estadounidense, considerado uno de los más grandes guitarristas de rock de todos los tiempos. Poseía un particular talento en la guitarra eléctrica en la cual expresaba con una increíble destreza sus emociones.

En el año 2003, la revista Rolling Stones lo eligió como el mejor guitarrista de todos los tiempos

Nació en Seattle, Washington, y su verdadero nombre era James Marshall Hendrix. Comenzó en 1961 colaborando en diversos espectáculos de Rhythm & Blues. En 1966 marchó al Reino Unido para fundar el Jimi Hendrix Experience, trío del que también formaban parte Mitch Mitchell y Noel Redding. El grupo debutó en París en 1966 y realizó giras por numerosos clubes del continente europeo, así como del Reino Unido (1966-1967). Tuvieron un éxito inmediato y canciones como “Hey, Joe”, “Purple Haze” y “The Wind Cries Mary” se situaron en los primeros puestos de las listas de éxitos británicas.

A su regreso a Estados Unidos, Hendrix actuó en el Festival Internacional de Música Pop de Monterrey (1967), donde interpretó “Wild Thing”. El largometraje Woodstock (1970) recoge su participación en el famoso festival de música de 1969. Su estilo, con sugerentes giros melódicos, ritmos enérgicos y sonido amplificado, así como su costumbre de romper las guitarras que utilizaba en los conciertos, convirtieron sus actuaciones en espectáculos polémicos y enormemente populares. Su versión de “The Star Spangled Banner” (himno nacional estadounidense), en la que tocaba la guitarra con los dientes, se convirtió en una leyenda. Hendrix es uno de los guitarristas más influyentes del siglo XX a pesar de que sólo contó con tres discos de estudio editados en vida: Are You Experienced? (1967), Axis: Bold As Love (1967) y Electric Ladyland (1968). Murió en Londres y está enterrado en su ciudad natal.
