Music For Another Moments

Son un conjunto de canciones bonus que, bien por razones de espacio, bien por su disonancia con el resto del álbum han acabado formando este conjunto.
Su peculiaridad reside en su hegemonía respecto a un mismo contexto. Casi todas estas piezas tienen bastante de orquestadas y buena parte de ellas son tranquilas para ser escuchadas concretamente en momento de paz y sosiego. Curiosamente, todas fueron creadas para formar parte de hilos de anuncios, bandas sonoras y temas de ambientación, pero debido a la buena acogida que tuvieron, son parte de esta colección de forma definitiva.

- PT TWO -
Sunday Afternoon

A diferencia de la colección anterior, esta son caras B e ideas que se quedaron fuera. Generalmente oiréis improvisaciones con bastante ausencia de instrumentación (en oposición a la anterior colección). Los temas son muy poco desarrollados y tienen un carácter marcadamente electrónico y funky.
Todos los temas fueron puntualmente compuestos y grabados en tardes de domingos como indica el título. Y como también avisa el álbum, son canciones carentes de sonidos Metal y pesados.

Hoy, como es sábado se hara un tributo a un gigante de la música progresiva, no estamos hablando de Robert Fripp, ni David Gilmour, ni Roger Waters, sino que de Steven Wilson, frontman de Porcupine Tree y otras bandas, acá le presento su biografía y algunos discos de sus diversos proyectos.

Steven Wilson (Nacido el 3 de Noviembre de 1967 en Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, Inglaterra). Es conocido por ser el alma mater del grupo de Rock Progresivo llamado Porcupine Tree.
Siendo Porcupine Tree el proyecto que tiene como preferencia, caben destacar otros Blackfield, No-Man, Bass Comunion o I.E.M. que configuran su extensa discografía. Además ha colaborado con otras bandas como Opeth a nivel de productor e ingeniero de sonido.

Biografia:
Steven Wilson descubrió su amor para la música alrededor de la edad de 8. Comenzó, una Navidad cuando sus padres compraron presentes para uno a en la forma de LP's. Su padre y madre recibieron el "Dark Side Of The Moon" de Floyd y "Love To Love You Baby de Donna Summer", respectivamente. El joven Steven pasó mucha de su niñez escuchando estos álbumes en la "rotación pesada", como él comentó una vez. Ambos LP's influenciarían su escritura futura de la canción. Él, demanda "... en la retrospección que puedo ver cómo son casi enteramente responsables de la dirección que mi música ha tomado desde aquello." Con Pink Floyd inclinándolo hacia un rock progresivo con un concepto experimental/sicodelico (según lo ejemplificado por Porcupine Tree y Blackfield), y con Donna Summer las influencias trance (No-Man, de Wilson con el músico del compañero y vocalista Tim Bowness adoptado inicialmente como su acercamiento musical. Posteriormente, el sonido de la venda desarrolló y persiguió un más meditativo y experimental sonido). Como niño, Steven fue forzado aprender la guitarra, pero él no gozó de ella. Sin embargo, a los 11, Wilson rescató una guitarra clásica de la secuencia de nylon de su ático y comenzó a experimentar con ella; o en sus propias palabras, "... micrófonos que raspan a través de las secuencias, alimentando el sonido que resulta en un carrete sobrecargado para aspar registradores de cinta y produciendo una forma primitiva de grabación de varias trayectorias despidiendo entre dos máquinas del cassette." Estaba claro que a los 11 años exhibio una fascinación temprana con diversas posibilidades de arreglo y de jugar con los sonidos. No tomó también mucho antes él comenzó a formar vendas con sus amigos de la escuela y del juego vivos. Sin embargo, la cosa que lo mantuvo satisfecho verdad experimentaba con los sonidos y producía las grabaciones que él hizo. Entre los años 1984 y 1986 él registró el material con las bandas subterráneas Altamont y Karma. Algunas de esas cintas han vuelto a allanar recientemente debido al renombre de Porcupine Tree. Wilson lo describe como "... pedacito como un pintor que tiene sus manchas blancas /negras de la pintura de la escuela de cuarto de niños en la exhibición..." Él tenia solo 15 años cuando él registró una cinta con Altamont, llamado Si Vockings. Este trabajo particular incluye las líricas de Alan Duffy a que Wilson utilizó más adelante para dos canciones de Porcupine Tree: "This Long Silence" y "It Will Rain for a Million Years". Alrededor del mismo tiempo él jugó con Altamont que él estaba también en una venda llamada Karma, que registró dos cintas: The Joke's on You (1983) y The Last Man To Laugh (1985), que contuvieron las versiones originales de canciones más adelante utilizó por Porcupine Tree, "Small Fish" y "Nine Cats" (sin embargo "The Joke's on You," que era tocado en vivo pero no registrado). Hasta este punto, Wilson y sus experimentos musicales diversos contuvieron industrial vanguardista, psicodelia (con Altamont) y el Prog Rock (con Karma). El paso siguiente de Steven formaba dos bandas: Porcupine Tree y No-Man. Él trabajó luego con la estrella de rock israelí Aviv Geffen, con la cual él creó la banda Blackfield. En parte de su tiempo vivio en Tel Aviv, Israel y Londres, Reino Unido. Steven también ha firmado para producir el álbum siguiente de la banda de metal progresivo israelí, Orphaned Land.
